Creating togetherness by giving back as a team
Team Spirit is difficult to quantify but you can be fairly sure that if it is good, or bad, you’ll know about it.
In order to enhance team spirit, some teams opt for boozy nights out, boisterous banter across the desk or bringing in doughnuts on a Friday. Perhaps these can be of benefit, (when they were possible) but sometimes they can achieve the opposite.
Bonded teams are usually engaged in something more meaningful. Does your team share the joy and significance of giving? That means, doing something for someone else without needing anything in return.
Could you sponsor a team of employees in a charity walk or other outdoor activity? They would have the satisfaction of giving back while also creating a togetherness through a shared mission away from work.
How about asking your team for suggestions of charities to support and then decide what activity to do as a team?
It’s simple and a win win. Why not give it a try? You’ll find that there are rewards all round.
