How to prepare your team for an uncertain future?
I hope that my team building and re-engagement posts over the last 14 weeks have been useful. I have offered advice on how to rebuild a team that is dispersed and disjointed and the feedback has been great.
We have learned that our teams can operate in a variety of forms and on many levels. One thing we can be sure of right now is that we just don’t know what the future holds. Ambiguity is our new reality, so let’s focus on what is within our control.
Now, more than ever, we need to keep the team at the heart of everything we do. Remember to listen to your team members and acknowledge the uncertainty they are facing and the anxiety that this can create. Be flexible and engage with each individual, keeping their particular concerns and issues in mind.
Some teams are still cautious about meeting up in person, but recently we have been successfully and safely bringing teams together again. We have found that meeting up for a fun, outdoor and off-grid treasure hunt is super effective in de-stressing and re-uniting teams.
