What’s next? Emerging from quarantine as a team.
Have you thought about your team engagement plan post-quarantine?
With thoughts of returning to the workplace now on the horizon, your individual team members will already be consciously or subconsciously defining the new normal for your team.
There will be some anxiety around these next steps, so it could be time to think about a plan to
consciously and collectively determine what this ‘new normal’ is going to look like.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be offering ideas of how this can be done.
It is useful to start off with collectively sharing your experiences, exploring opportunities for growth and redefining your priorities as a team.
Here are two suggested starting points to give some time and energy to next week:
1) Revisit the ‘Why’ of your team. Why do we do the work we do? Why do we do it that way? This
focuses a team’s attention on the purpose of their work.
2) Discuss the learnings your team has taken from this remote working experience and what
changes you would all like to make as a result.
When you combine this re-focusing on your purpose with recent learnings, it will be a great basis for a more meaningful team engagement plan over the next few weeks.
